Successfully installed solar power systems in 5 rural schools, enabling computer labs and evening studies for over 1,200 students.
The Solar Power for Rural Schools initiative aimed to address one of the biggest challenges facing rural education: reliable access to electricity. With the support of 678 donors, we were able to transform the learning environment in five schools across rural Kenya.
Key achievements:
• Installation of solar panels and battery systems
• Setting up computer labs in each school
• Enabling evening study programs
• Training local technicians for maintenance
• Reducing schools' operating costs
The impact has been remarkable - students can now use computers, study after sunset, and schools have reported improved academic performance. The project has become a model for sustainable energy solutions in rural education.
